Choice of hardware
There are two hardware options, supporting different
operational requirements:
For powered vessels : MAT1 - satellite transceiver
for assets with 24V DC power supply
For unpowered vessels : MAT2 - satellite transceiver
with internal battery pack lasts 7 days before needing
a recharge. Battery changers, additional power packs
and solar panels are available to extend the voyage
time.
Remote equipment monitoring
Pole Star's range of marine fleet management and security
solutions business has progressively grown since 1998
to include over 500 shipping companies and associated
organisations operating in excess of 10,000 vessels.
Core to this success has been the Purplefinder web application
- a secure, reliable and cost effective system.
PurpleFinder is now being incorporated into business-to-business
solutions to enable global, real-time monitoring and
exception-based reporting of such parameters as equipment
vibration, and geo-verification of OWS, Ballast and
NOx/SOx operations.
